Singer Island, FL

Nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway, Singer Island was named for Paris Singer, the 23rd child of sewing machine magnate Isaac Singer and the individual responsible for developing Palm Beach. Paris Singer worked exclusively with architect Addison Mizner to create the Spanish architecture, picturesque streets and exclusive shops that have become synonymous with Palm Beach. In the early 1920s, Singer and Mizner turned their attention to the north and set their sights on developing Singer Island.

In 1989, MacArthur Beach State Park was created in honor of John D. MacArthur. The park showcases and preserves the natural beauty of Florida's subtropical flora. It includes a habitat of coastal and tropical hammock and mangrove forest that is a haven for several rare or endangered native tropical and coastal plant species. It’s a great place for kayaking, bird-watching, fishing, and snorkeling.
